Wait, I thought that fire ants ball up together and form a raft when they’re put in water. That’s how they spread quickly, that’s how researchers collect them, and I’m pretty sure that’s how my sister got them out of her luggage once.
They don’t do so well with chlorine present in the water.. which is probably why they drowned in the story
