Formica pallidefulva group

F. pallidefulva group ants are large, leggy, somewhat skittish Formica restricted to eastern North America. Where they occur, they are usually abundant, especially in the midwestern states. Some species are hosts to socially parasitic Polyergus and Formica sanguinea group ants.
