Oligomyrmex

Oligomyrmex are small, usually subterranean ants found in warmer climates around the world.  They are polymorphic, having specialized major and minor worker castes.  The minor workers of Oligomyrmex can be miniscule, in some cases less than a millimeter long.  Little is known about the biology of most species, but some are known to be thief ants, nesting alongside larger species of ants whose brood they prey upon.
