Azteca alfari Cecropia Ants
When I opened a nest chamber of Cecropia ants, the workers scramble to carry the brood to safety in an adjoining chamber. The ants cut circular passageways between chambers (upper left). Notice also the mealybugs at lower left, which the ants tend for honeydew.
