Ectatomma tuberculatum

Visitors to the rainforests of central and south America looking for ants will undoubtedly see Ectatomma.  These large ants are ubiquitous in the forest understory.  Here, an Ectatomma tuberculatum worker stands guard on a Heliconia flower.
