Odontomachus bauri - Trap-Jaw Ant

Portrait of a trap-jaw ant.  The mandibles are locked open at 180º and slam shut on a hair trigger.  Odontomachus bauri are medium to large sized ants, about a centimeter in length, found in the New World tropics.
