Cerapachys

Cerapachys ants are predators of other ants, and are found in warmer regions worldwide.  New world species like C. augustae pictured below, are small, subterranean, and rarely-encountered.  Old world Cerapachys can be either small and cryptic like the new world forms or epigaeic and conspicuous like the Australian species C. ruficornis below.
