Leptogenys

Leptogenys is a diverse genus of slender, long-legged ponerine ants found in warmer climates worldwide.  These ants have moderate to large colonies that nest in rotting wood and soil.  Some species have developed a nomadic, army-ant like life cycle, and many are specialist predators on different groups of arthropods.
