Acromyrmex versicolor - Desert Leaf-Cutter Ant
Although people often think of ants as wingless insects, most ant species have some winged forms that are used for reproduction and dispersal. Here, male leaf-cutter ants (Acromyrmex versicolor) fly into a mating swarm in southern Arizona.
