Pogonomyrmex (Ephebomyrmex) imberbiculus

Pogonomyrmex imberbiculus lacks the long hairs (the psmammophore) present on the underside of the head of most of the larger members this genus. This small desert ant is considered to be among the most primitive of North American Pogonomyrmex.
