Pheidologeton (marauder ants)

Pheidologeton ants are predaceous insects of the African, Asian, and Australian tropics that form massive colonies.  Some species conduct raids similar to those of the nomadic army ants, although marauder ants have more permanent nests in the soil.  Worker polymorphism is well-developed in Pheidologeton, supermajor workers are much larger than the majors and tiny minors.
