Sericomyrmex

Sericomyrmex is a small genus of fungus-growing ants found in the New World tropics.  These insects are close relatives of Trachymyrmex but tend to have a denser covering of fine hairs on the body.  Colonies of Sericomyrmex can be relatively large, with more than a thousand worker ants.
