Tetramorium Tetramorium is a large genus of myrmicine ants whose considerable diversity is centered in the old world. Many species have been transported extensively with human commerce, and some of these are pictured below. The pavement ant, Tetramorium sp. nr. caespitum (the species, although abundant, is still formally undescribed) is a European species that has become common in North American cities. T. lanuginosum is a tropical Indo-Australian species now found in warmer climates worldwide. |
